Ally’s Weekly Pull: Always Bet on Black… Dy-no-mite!

By TAG

Who’s the brutha who fights like a mutha?  Black Dynamite!  Yes, the titular movie sensation is now in comic form.  Move over Luke Cage—it’s time for some dynamite of the ebony variety.  If you haven’t seen the 2009 blaxpliotation film Black Dynamite, you’re missing out, but fear not because here’s your shot.  Out this week from Ape Entertainment for $5.95 at 48 pages, from author Brian Ash and artist Jun Lofamia, comes Black Dynamite: Slave Island.

Black Dynamite thought he’d seen some horrors in Vietnam and faced some hardships when he returned home to clean up the drug-filled streets of his neighborhood, but nothing in his storied past can prepare him for… Slave Island.

This one-shot picks up right where the movie ended, so you know it’s going to be good.  Also, if you’re a fan of the film, you’ll want to pick this book up to keep you occupied until the Black Dynamite cartoon series debuts on Adult Swim later this year, featuring the voice talents of the movie’s original cast.

Don’t let this book pass you by, or else I’ll have to say, “You missed, sucka!”  Pick you up a 40 of Anaconda Malt Liquor to drink while you’re reading this book, or just get the 40 and check out a preview of the book HERE.
